Born May,16,1958 in Many, LA, he was the son of the late Medford Maxie and Ruby Cole Maxie. Haywood graduated from Many High School in Many, LA (county) After high school, he entered the US Army. He was a member of Mt. Pisgah A. M.E. Haywood was employed by Hickory Housing Authority and Unitape in Newton, NC where he retired.
In addition to his parents, he was proceeded in death by a son, Dior Rhinehardt, two sisters Bettie Maxie Lee and Alice Maxie and one brother Willie Cole.
Left to cherish his memory, a life friend of 34 years Darlene Rhinehardt, a daughter Nadja Rhinehardt and one son Tyree Rhinehardt both of Hickory. 2 sisters Pamela Maxie and Etoye Maxie Lynch, 2 brothers Metdfor Maxie (Mattie) and James Maxie of Many, LA, seven grandchildren; Xquan Wilfong, Dre Rhinehardt, Landan Maddox, Inandi Rhinehardt, Jayden Maddox, Austin Rhinehardt and Chandler Griggs all of hickory and a host of nieces and nephews.
The service will be held at Hickory Funeral Home in Hickory NC. Service will be officiated by Rev Minnie Bryant Prince. Service will be 1-2 service following.
Burial will take place on Thursday, October 1, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Salisbury National Cemetery.
