

Hazeleen Watts Blevins, 72, of Hickory, went home to be with the Lord on March 12, 2014 at Frye Regional Medical Center. Born December 6, 1941 in Catawba County, she was the daughter of the late Theodore Watts and Lovie Crump Watts. She loved Southern Gospel and sang with the New Covenant Quartet for 10 years. She also sang with Donnie Bailey at Trinity Baptist Church. Hazeleen enjoyed bingo, loved to travel and loved to cook for her family. She retired as a sewer with the furniture industry
.
In addition to her parents, Hazeleen was preceded in death by her brother, Billy Joe Watts, and sister, Peggy Minton.
She is survived by her husband, Vernon Blevins; son, Steve Hobbs and wife Lori from Statesville; daughter, Tamera Meighen and husband Michael of Kannapolis, NC; step- daughters, Linda Lackey and Sharon Allen; grandchildren, Bradley and Kayla Hobbs and Bryce and Alexa Meighen; brother, Jerry Watts and wife Jeanette of Conover; sisters, Betty Smith and husband Ray of Hickory, Pansy Hull of Hildebran, Christine McCall of Franklin and Doris Dobish of Conover; step grandchildren, Justin, Benji, and Brooke and many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held at 1:00 p.m., on Saturday, March 15, 2014 in the Chapel of Drum Funeral Home in Hickory with Rev. Steve Ayers officiating. Burial will follow in Catawba Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.
