Henry L. "Andy" Anderson Jr.

HICKORY----Henry L. “Andy” Anderson, Jr., 88, left this world on May 26, 2014 to join the Lord.He was born April 24, 1926 to the late Henry Leroy and Sylvia Miller Anderson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Michael Eichhorn.He spent much of his life as a mechanic in Clearwater, Fl. to become a Dr. of Motors through the Chrysler Corp. and was proud to have served in WW II in the Navy. He was an avid gardener and took much pride in making things grow.He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Frances H. Anderson of Hickory; daughter, Sharon and husband, David of Hickory; grandchildren, Kim (Craig) Ashline of Palm Bay, FL and Holly (Tommy) Eller of Mountain City, TN.; great grandchildren, Amanda (Matt)Blevins Bryce Ashline, Shana (Jesse) Jenkins, Josh Eller, Brooke Ashline and Fiancée, Matt Perry and Devin Eichhorn and two great- great grandchildren. Services will be Thursday, May 29, 2014, at 10:00 A. M. at Unity Lutheran Church with Reverend Dr. Robert Allen officiating. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.The family will receive friends Thursday from 9:00 – 9:45 A. M. at Unity Lutheran Church.In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Unity Lutheran Church, Re: the mortgage principal in Andys honor.Condolences may be made online at www.hickoryfh.com Hickory Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
