HENRY ELMER COIL
Newton – Henry Elmer Coil, age 100, of Newton, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 1, 2019 at his home.
Born on July 27, 1919 in Chemung County, NY. He was the son of the late Lee Coyle and Hazel Halliday Coyle. Henry was a decorated WWII and Korean War veteran. He recently was recognized on the front page of the Hickory Daily Record for his service and was a Bronze Star recipient. At one time he was a member of New Life Fellowship Church of Newton.
Other than his parents, Henry was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years Jane Coil and his 3 younger brothers.
Survivors include, 2 daughters, Cindy Jane Kirby and Connie Jean Impson; a son, Craig Jay Coil; 2 grandsons, Christopher Edward Impson and Raymond Joseph Robinson and 3 great granddaughters.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday, September 11, 2019 at 3:00 pm at Catawba Memorial Park including military honors rendered by American Legion Post 544.

He lived a full life, filled with memories!!! He outlived every family member on both sides of my family, mom’s side included. He’s the last one of a memorable child hood with family! He was so proud to be a firefighter for Montour Falls Ny, He Remarried, to his first girlfriend after mom passed, at 88 yrs of age... !!! Yea, well done pop, well done!!!!! I could go on for hours..... he was a good man!!
