Hessie Brown Price

CHARLOTTE—Hessie Brown Price, 96, formerly of Bethlehem passed away October 5, 2014 at Sardis Oaks. Hessie was born January 12, 1918 in Alexander Co. to the late Jessie Euel and Lillie Cline Brown. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Hayden Edward Price; son, Wayne Edward Price; sisters, Ruby Williams, Pauline Bowman, Colene Brown Roseman, Audrey Huffman, and Bonnie Pope; brothers Clarence Brown, Conley Brown, Abner Brown and Ted Brown. Hessie was a charter member of Viewmont Baptist Church, Hickory, NC where she had been an active member. She has been residing in Sardis Oaks Nursing Facility in Charlotte, NC for the past 4 years. Surviving are her daughter, Elvena Price Rogers and husband Ken of Charlotte, NC ; a son, Phillip Price and wife Diana of Swannanoa, NC. Grandchildren: Ginger Price Dietrich and husband Dave, Blenda Price Sloninker and husband Randy of Hickory, NC; Heather Price Williams and husband Jon of Candler, NC and Jesse Price and Bri McCain of Cullowhee, NC. Great-grandchildren Joshua and Noah Dietrich, Luke Hayden Williams and Nicole Helen Price. Surviving sister Nina Brown Little of Conover, NC and daughter-in-law- Burlene Curtis Price of Hickory, NC. The family will receive friends Wednesday, October 8, 2014 from 1:00-2:00PM at Viewmont Baptist Church. Funeral Service will be held at Viewmont Baptist Church on Wednesday, October 8th at 2:00pm with Rev. Dr. Jay Robison officiating. Burial immediately following in Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery.
