OBITUARY

Hubert Willard Anderson

VALE - Hubert Willard Anderson, 84, passed away Dec. 10, 2010, at Lutheran Home, East after a period of declining health.

Hubert was born March 13, 1926, in Belmont to the late John Leopold and Carrie Anderson.

He was a member of Corinth Baptist Church where he was a deacon. He has been a Sunday school teacher, youth leader and a member of the men's Bible class. He was a decorated career veteran of the U.S. Navy having served in World War II, and retired from Suburban Trust/BOFA in property management.

Surviving are his wife, Gladys Duncan Anderson of the home; son, John Anderson of Atlanta; daughter, Joy Pals and husband, Chuck, of Maryland; sister, Frances Abernethy of Vale.

Services will be Monday, Dec. 13, 2010, at 2 p.m. at Corinth Baptist Church, with the Rev. William Kanupp officiating.

A graveside service will follow on Monday at 4 p.m. at Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery, Taylorsville, with graveside military honors conducted by American Legion Post 48.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 6 to 7 p.m. at Hickory Funeral Home.

Dear Gladys and family,
We were so sorry to hear that Andy had left us.
Jim recalls that Andy admired his Tabasco tie, so Jim bought one for Andy. They shared their taste for hot sauce!
You are in our hearts.

I only know Hubert from our monthly visits to the Lutheran Home when we brought dogs from the Humane Society. He was our number one customer loving the pets in his very gentel way speaking in a low voice. I often thought what a kind, loving man he is. Patti Lee
