Irene Brendle Cannon

Irene B. Cannon, of Hickory, passed away peacefully on May 14, 2015 at Frye Regional Medical Center after a period of declining health. Born March 4, 1934 in Murphy, NC, she was the daughter of the late Mattie D. and Lawrence M. Brendle.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Cannon; son, Andrew Cannon; brothers, Fred Brendle, William Brendle, Verlin Brendle, Michael Brendle, Kenneth Brendle; and sister, Ailene Teague.

She is survived by her son, David Cannon of Las Vegas, NV, daughter-in-law, Rose Cannon; grandsons, John Cannon and Joe Cannon, all of Whittier, CA; brothers, James (Trudy) Brendle of Tampa, FL, Joe (Carol) Brendle of Brandon, FL; sisters, Audrey (Floyd) Huffman of Vale, NC, Regina (Steve) Abernethy of Newton, NC; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, May 18, 2015 at the Woodlawn Memorial Garden Chapel with burial to follow.
