Iris Yvonne Fowler Putman

Iris Yvonne Fowler Putman, 79, passed away on Sunday, May 7, 2017 at Catawba Regional Hospice in Newton. She was born on November 12, 1937 to the late Albert Fowler and Flonnie Shipman Fowler in Henderson County. Along with her parents, Yvonne is preceded in death by her brothers Larry, Stanley, Wallace, and sister Doris. Yvonne will be remembered as always caring and loving of family and friends. She enjoyed beach vacations, and her time with family was precious to her. She enjoyed her flowers and shared many beautiful pictures. Those left to cherish her memory include her loving husband, Raymond C. Putman Jr. of the home, daughter, Lori Tate and husband David of Martinsburg, WV, son, Todd Putman and wife Amy of Cartersville, GA, grandchildren, Ryan Tate and Joshua Putman, sisters, Martha Compton and Lorena Teague, and her loving nieces and nephews. The family wishes to thank all of those who cared for her during her illness. A visitation will be held on Friday, May 12, 2017 from 11:00 to 12:30 at Hickory Funeral Home.The funeral service will be held in the Chapel of Hickory Funeral Home at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, May 12, 2017 with Reverend Mike Crump officiating. Burial will follow the service at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Catawba Regional Hospice, 3975 Robinson Rd., Newton, NC 28658.
