Ivan James Rowe

Born February 9, 1993 in Belarus, Russia, he was the son of James David Rowe and Tamara Livengood Rowe. Ivan grew up in a family that is very close and surrounded by love and support. Ivan having 2 uncles that are ministers and a father that sang in a gospel quartet and wonderful grandparents that truly loved God. He was constantly in the presence of the Lord. As a young man he traveled with his Dad’s quartet and assisted them with their ministry. He loved the military and was very active in Fred T. Foard Junior ROTC program. He was a young man living his dream and serving in the Army. Ivan was a young man that had a passion for the outdoors. Hunting and fishing were just a few of his hobbies. He enjoyed reading in his spare time. Ivan will be greatly missed by his family. Ivan, before deployment was an active member at The Journey of Catawba County Church that was founded by his Uncle Ben Rowe.

Ivan was preceded in death by his grandparents, Alice Franklin and Winfred Rowe.

Left to cherish wonderful memories are his parents, his sisters, Jennifer M. Rowe, Rebecca L. Rowe and Melissa L. Rowe; niece, Amariana M. Little; aunts and uncles, Mike Livengood and wife Jane, Rev. Robin Rowe and wife Carolyn, Rev. Ben Rowe and wife Becky and Carol Bumgarner; cousins, Beth and Catt Livengood, Michael, Chassidy, and Hadley Rowe, Gary and Amanda Rowe, Ashley and Luke Miller, Jessica Rowe, Justus and Abby Rowe, Matt and Abbey Rowe, Ryan Rowe, Alexia Rowe, and Beth and Bailey Bumgarner; grandparents, Don and Marty Livengood and step-grandfather, Jim Franklin.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, December 5, 2014 at Lakeview Baptist Church with Rev. Ben Rowe and Rev. Robin Rowe officiating. Burial will follow in Catawba Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 4, 2014 at Drum Funeral Home in Hickory.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorials be made to the Jr. ROTC of Fred T. Foard High School, 3407 Plateau Road, Newton, NC 28658.
