

James was born April 8, 1951 in Lincoln Co. to the late Stanford Baldwin and Margaret Shell Watts. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a daughter, Amy Herman Baldwin.
He was an avid deer hunter, loved rabbit hunting with his dogs and telling short stories. He was a veteran of the U. S. Marine Corps and served during the Viet Nam conflict. He was employed by Draka USA as a machinist.
Surviving are his wife, Kathy Townsend Baldwin; sons, Jamie Baldwin and wife, Stacy of Conover and Chris Baldwin and wife, Nicole of Hickory; grandchildren, Josh Herman of Conover, Megan Herman of Statesville, Logan Baldwin and Levi Parker Baldwin of Hickory; great granddaughters, Melonie Rosales of Statesville and Hayleigh Herman of Conover; brother, Bobby Baldwin and wife, Chris of Casar; sister, Marilyn Miller and husband, Kenny of Deep Gap and his best friend, Steve Lail of Conover.
Services will be Wednesday, December 10, at 3:00 P. M. at Hickory Funeral Home Chapel with Lynn Puckett officiating.
Military honors will be provided by Catawba Valley Marine Corps League.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, Dec. 10, from 1:30 – 2:45 P. M. at Hickory Funeral Home.
At other times the family will be at the residence of Chris and Nicole Baldwin.
