James Jim Jackson Brown Jr.

Born on June 1, 1927 in Haralson County, GA, he was the son of the late James Jackson Brown Sr. and Willa Belle Alexander Brown. He served in the Marines for a short time at the end of the war.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Jimmy Brown; brothers, Bill, Kenneth and John Brown, sisters, Ethel Prater, Evelyn Bridges and Lillian Jones.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Marjorie Shedd Brown; daughter-in-law, Sheree Brown; grandsons, Michael Brown (Sonya) and AJ Brown; great granddaughter, Emma Brown; brother, Edward Brown; sisters, Mae Maddox, Aline Entrekin, Marcelle Tarpley; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A Funeral service will be held at Catawba Memorial Park, Funerals & Cremations with Pastor Dale Watts officiating on Monday, September 25, 2017 at 11:00 am with burial to follow at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Green Mountain, NC.

The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10:00 to 10:45 am at the Funeral Home.
