James "Jimmy" Gaither

Jimmy was born June 1, 1934 in Catawba County to the late James Eugene and Margaret Johnson Gaither. He was also preceded in death by his first wife Joann Gaither, sisters Betty G. Clark, Allene G. Cox and half sister Beulah G. Moore, a half brother; James Melford Gaither.

Jimmy had retired from Gulf States Paper as a truck driver. He attended Christ Church U.M.C. James was a veteran of the US army having served in Germany. He loved and served God, also enjoyed golf and other sports and especially the Carolina Panthers.

Surviving is his dear wife; Brenda Gaither, son Mark Gaither and his wife Lisa, stepson Mark Hefner, sister Ann G. Norris, grandchildren Jena Gaither, Leah Bryant, great grandsons, Landon Bryant, Brodie Bryant and great granddaughter Kayla Jones.

Services will be Wednesday, December 30th, at 11:00 AM at Hickory Funeral Home Chapel. Military honors will be conducted by The American Legion Post #48

The family will receive friends immediately following the memorial service at Hickory Funeral Home.
