Jerri Dale (Cook) Hitaffer

Hickory- Jerri Cook Hitaffer, 79 of Hickory, went home to be with her savior on April 21, 2019 at her residence. Born in Catawba County on May 27, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Hugh Edison Cook and Willie Bolick Cook. Jerri was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force, in which she served for three years. She retired from Shuford Mills as a part of their Human Resource Department. She is survived by her daughter Lisa Hitaffer of the home; a son William Hitaffer of Hickory; step-son Rob Hitaffer of Maryland; grandson William Eric Hitaffer of Hickory; granddaughters Emily Anne Hitaffer of Hickory and Molly Nicole Hitaffer; a brother Mack Edison Cook and wife Peggy of Hickory; a niece Rhonda Lunsford of Connelly Springs and many close cousins, friends and “adopted grandchildren.” The family will receive friends Saturday, April 27, 2019 from 12:00 pm to 1:45 pm at Highland United Methodist Church.

Celebration of Life service with military honors will be held April 27, 2019 at 2:00 pm at Highland United Methodist Church with Reverend Roy Miller officiating. Memorial gifts may be made to Food Pantry, Highland United Methodist Church, 1020 12th Street Place NE, Hickory, NC 28601 or Carolina Caring, 3975 Robinson Road, Newton, NC 28658.
