

He was born on November 20th, 1930, to the late Roy Wilburn Kale and Kate Rena Drum Kale in Catawba County.
Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Violet White Kale, siblings, Richard Kale, Charles Kale, and Frances Hatley, and a granddaughter Bailey Catherine Yates.
He was a member of Highland Baptist Church. Jerry served 30 years active and 36 years inactive with St. Stephens Volunteer Fire Department. During his active years, he served as First Captain and Assistant Fire Chief.
Those left to cherish his memory include, his sons David Kale and wife Sandra of Waxhaw, Nelson Kale and wife Elaine of Hickory, and Jesse Kale of Hickory, daughters; Donna Vrla and husband Justin of Bessermer City, Mary Lail and husband Ron of Hickory, and Diane Phillips of Willow Springs, Grandchildren; Jennifer Ramsey (Chris), Adrienne Maynor (Russell), Moriah Carter (Josh), Laura Blevins, Sara Farrell (Elliott), Kala Hedrick (Josh), Drew Phillips, Dave Phillips, Chris Kale (Catie), Melinda Gordon (Johnny), Zelina Kale, Alex Kale, Callista Kale and 17 great-grandchildren.
A Graveside service will be held on Saturday February 8th at 11:00am at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens of Hickory. Dr. Jeff Myers will be officiating the service.
