Mr. John Henry Sigmon III

John was born October 8, 1948 in Columbia, SC to the late Rev. John Henry and Vivian Miller Sigmon, Jr.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Amber Linette Sigmon.

He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, a veteran of the Vietnam conflict and served in the Navy Ceremonial Honor Guard.

He was the former owner and operator of Western Carolina Express trucking company and currently the owner and operator of L & J rental properties.

Surviving are his wife, Linnie Cline Sigmon of Hickory; daughter, Kelly Sigmon Rice and husband, William of Hickory; granddaughter, Gabriella Nevaeh Rice of Hickory; brothers, David Sigmon and wife, Iris of Hickory and Tim Sigmon of Charlottesville, VA, a sister, Mary Beth Sigmon Young and husband, George, a niece, Amanda Young and a nephew, Ben Young all of Newton.

Graveside service Friday, March, 2, 2012, at 1:00 P. M. at Zion Lutheran Church with Reverend Richard Schwandt officiating.

Graveside military honors will be conducted by American Legion Post #48.

The family will receive friends Friday from 2:00 – 3:00 PM at Hickory Funeral Home.
