Jonathan Paul Hofeldt, age 27, of Conover, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, January 2, 2021. Born March 7, 1993 in High Point, NC, he was the son of John Henry Paul Hofeldt and the late Linda Amelia Worsham Hofeldt. An attendee of Hickory Bible Church, he was the owner of Jon’s Lawns lawn care business.

In addition to his father, John Hofeldt; Jonathan is survived by his brother, David Hofeldt of Hickory; and his sister, Laura Hofeldt Lara and husband Ángel Lara of Chihuahua, Mexico. He is also survived by his uncle Woody Worsham, his aunt Karen Worsham, and his cousin Catherine Worsham Hastings. He had many other beloved relatives who will miss him dearly.

Jonathan was a beloved brother, son, cousin, nephew, and friend. He was full of life, hardworking, genuine, funny, unique, a good friend, a spiritual encouragement to many, and a huge support to his family. He was loved and appreciated by his many lawn care clients and enjoyed owning and working his business. He loved animals and all living things, but especially his sweet dog, Kia, who was his best bud. Jonathan was truly a light and a blessing to everyone he met, and he will be sorely missed on this side of Heaven.

A memorial service will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, January 9, 2021 at Hickory Bible Church with Rev. Jon Krick officiating. There will be a floating receiving from 1:30 p.m. -3:00 p.m. at the church prior to the service. A private burial will be held at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to Jonathan’s sister and brother-in-law toward their mission work in rural Mexico, or the Catawba Humane Society, as Jonathan loved animals.

If you choose to give to Laura and Ángel Lara, checks can be made out to Hickory Bible Church, with “missions fund--Laura & Angel” on the memo line. This is a tax-deductible donation.

Condolences may be sent to the Hofeldt family at www.drumfh-hickory.com.

The Hofeldt family has entrusted the funeral arrangements to Drum Funeral Home, Hickory, NC.

Jon was our neighbor and to say he was full of life is an understatement. We will miss seeing him outside working, four-wheeling or skimboarding through our ditch after a hard rain!
In mid-December he mowed our entire yard and would not let us pay him he said he just wanted to be a good neighbor and he was indeed a good neighbor! We are praying for comfort and peace for his family and all that knew him.

To all the Hofeldt’s, I like so many, was absolutely stunned to hear of Jonathan’s passing. May God comfort you and may you rest in his arms as you learn how to travel around the huge painful hole in your hearts. Sue Troutman

Jim & I are broken hearing about Jon passing. We have lived down the street for 30 years our boys had lots of fun sledding in Sandy Pines. Then the boys grew up & when Jon started his lawn service we wanted to help his business grow. Jon was so sweet & took great pride in his work. Our lawn was gorgeous after he took over. I lost my mom at 19 so I knew Jon's saddness of losing his dear mom so I always made a point to talk with him & let him know I was there for him. We were blessed to have him in our lives. This week has been very sad I keep seeing him in my mind his old white truck going by to the next job. He will always hold a special place in my heart. We moved a year ago & one thing I hated I would miss our talks & his sweet smile. I know he is with his mom looking down smiling at us & watching over us. Jon we will miss you & we pray for your dad & family to have comfort & strength while trying to heal from losing you. God Bless,
Jim & Beth Fulghum
