HICKORY— Judy Mae Lutz Carpenter, 80 of Hickory went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, January 20, 2024, after a period of declining heath. Judy was born May 30, 1943 to the late Walter and Viola Lutz. She was retired from Century Link Phone Company. She was a devoted wife, mother, and Mamaw.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Sherman Carpenter; her parents, Walter and Viola Lutz; her sisters, Josephine Icard, Shirley Matthews, and Janette Lail; her brothers, Jack Lutz and Bill Lutz.
She is survived by her son Scott Carpenter and wife Apryl (Goldsboro); son, Kevin Carpenter and wife Lynne (Conover); grandchildren, Ryan Carpenter (Asheville), Dalton Carpenter (Conover), Keeley Carpenter (Wilmington) and David Carpenter (Conover); and a number of nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to St. Stephens Lutheran Church and School.
