"I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith." 2 Timothy 4:7 Mrs. Judy Lee Odom, 61, Hickory, N.C., was greeted with open arms by our heavenly father at Carolina Hospice House on January 3rd, 2020 from a courageous battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her loving family and friends, who will miss her dearly. She was preceded in death by her mother, Marie Miller. Mrs. Odom was of the Baptist faith and attended Faith Baptist Church. She was recently employed by Shell BBQ Diner. She enjoyed spending time with her husband and best friend, Ted, by going to yard sales, thrift shopping, and collecting garden gnomes, fairies and humming birds. She enjoyed her fur babies Rocky and Layla. She is survived by her husband, Ted Gortney, of the home. Her daughters, Anna Rhea of Johnson City, TN, Melissa "Missy" Nelson (Steven) of Unicoi, TN, and her son Michael Smith (Rebekah) of Mountain City, TN. Six grandchildren, Preston Rhea, TX, Olivia Hall, Hannah Pyron (Cody), Elijah Nelson, Ethan and Kynlee Smith all of TN; step daughters, Tina Farris, Angela Yoder, and Nicole Fisher. Five step-grandchildren and five step- great- grand children. She was also survived by a special cousin, whom was more like a sister, Goldie Tolley.
