Judy Huffman Sherrill, 75 of Hickory, NC went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 1st, 2026, at her residence surrounded by her loved ones.
Born on March 28th, 1951, in Catawba County, NC, Judy was the daughter of the late Daniel Huffman and Helen Propst Huffman.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Brenda F Huffman and brother, David Allen Huffman.
Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Chad Allen Huffman and wife Chasity Huffman of Hickory; her sister, Karen H Crouch and husband Lynn Crouch of Hickory; her nephews, Darren Pennell and wife Elaine of Hiddenite, Scott Pennell and wife MaryBeth of Claremont; her great nephews, Dustin Pennell and girlfriend Kelsey Barnes, Tyler Pennell all of Hiddenite; her great niece, Lauren and husband Cristian Negro Cruz and their daughter Kalea all of Claremont.
She enjoyed baking different cakes and desserts for her family. It wasn’t unusual to see her stand on a ladder in the back of her truck trimming trees and shrubs. There wasn’t anything that she couldn’t find some humor and have her family and friends in stitches.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Catawba Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 9th, 2026, at 2:00 pm with Rabbi Jeff officiating. She will be laid to rest at Catawba Memorial Park following the service.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Rock of Israel Congregation, and or Carolina Caring Hospice in Judy’s name.
