Kathy Jane Lazenby of Hickory, formerly of Statesville, passed away Wednesday, June 1, 2022. Born July 16, 1949, she was the daughter of the late James Lazenby and Bobbi Nicks Minnish. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Carolyn Lazenby Martin. She is survived by her nephew, Chris Martin and niece, Kim Martin of Statesville. Also surviving is her cousin, Amy Nicks Anderson of Hickory. Prior to retirement, Kathy worked as a bookkeeper and as a convenience store manager. She was an avid reader and enjoyed watching movies.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 10 at Northminster Presbyterian Church in Hickory at 1:30 p.m. Pastor Leo Fair of First United Methodist Church in Granite Falls will officiate. Memorials may be made to the Humane Society or charity of choice. The family would like to thank the staff at Trinity Village and Carolina Caring for their kindness and care.
