Kerry Jerome Gantt

Kerry Jerome Gantt, 66, of Newton, NC went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 8th, 2026, at Catawba Valley Medical Center surrounded by his loved ones.

Born on April 24th, 1960, in Alamance County, NC, Kerry was the son of the late James Howard and Joan Ramseur Gantt. Kerry was an avid outdoorsman, hunter, fisherman and a handy man to all his friends. He loved to watch his son play sports and enjoyed watching sports with his son on television. He also was a rock for his wife. He was loved by his family and friends and will be dearly missed.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his father-in-law, Stuart Sigmon, his brother-in-law, William Earl Armstrong II, and his niece, Emily Armstrong.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 46 years, Teresa Sigmon Gantt; his son, Jason Jerome Gantt, two sisters Jamie Griffin (Mitch), and Jodie Potter, sister-in-law Sandra Armstrong, nephews and nieces Kevin Driscoll (Kaitlin), Brittany Johnson, Kelsie Driscoll, Garrett Griffin (Karissa), Ben Elledge; his great nephews, Kason and Keaton Driscoll, Ian and Gage Johnson, Malachi Armstrong, Samuel Griffin and great nieces, Kenna Driscoll, and Emily Hood.

A Memorial Service will be held at Startown First Baptist Church on Friday, September 18th, 2026, at 3:00 pm with Pastor William Church officiating.

The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Startown First Baptist Church.
