Mr. Kevin Dale Childers

Kevin “Mutt” Dale Childers, 73 of Hickory, passed away July 5, 2026 at Frye Regional Medical Center. Kevin was born in Catawba County to the late Grover Franklin Childers and Thelma Leona Sipe Childers. He is also preceded in death by his brothers; Frank Childers and David Childers also his four sisters; Glenda Martin, Jewell Coulter, Lora Childers and Kim Childers.

Kevin was an electrician and owner of Industrial Controls, Inc. for over 20 years. He was jack of all trades and there wasn’t anything he couldn’t fix for his family and friends.

Those left to cherish his memory are his daughters Kristen Childers and Erika Salerno, one brother Tony Childers, four sisters; Katie Childers, Avis (Ruie) Jones, Cheryl Sigmon and Tinita Stoker, grandchildren, Rylee Griffith, and Avery Salerno, and the love of his life Cindy Childers and his precious cat Baby.

Celebration of Life services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 25, 2026 at Unity Lutheran Church, 3025 Falling Creek Road, NE, Hickory with Deacon Deborah Johnson officiating.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. - 2:45 p.m. prior to the service.
