LAURA KATE GANT HICKORY – Laura Kate Gant, 90 of Hickory passed away on August 30, 2017. Born on December 4, 1926 in Jonesville, NC, she was the daughter of the late William Earl and Hessie Gentry Gant. Laura Kate spent many years sharing the gospel of Christ in the USA and the West Indies. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Pauline Lyons Pike, brothers, Jack and Fred Gant. Survivors include her sister, Chattie Martin and husband Don of Dacula, GA; brother, Kaline Gant and wife Diane of Kernersville, and a great number of other family members and friends. A Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, September 3, 2017 at 3 PM at Catawba Funerals & Cremations. Burial will follow at Catawba Memorial Park. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2-3 PM at the funeral home. Condolences may be left at www.catawbamemorialpark.com.
