Leona Detter Davis

Leona was born June 22, 1927 in Lincoln Co. to the late John Pinkney Detter and Beatie Irene Hoyle Detter. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Charlene Huffman, Christine Coffey, Dolly Detter, four brothers,

Summie Detter, Clyde Detter, Cletus Detter and Oren Detter.

She was a member of Winkler’s Grove Baptist Church. She had retired from Whisnant Hosiery Mills

Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Cletus “June” Davis Jr. of the home, a son Ken Davis and his wife Linda, grandson Rodney Davis, great grandson Ethan Davis, great granddaughter April Davis, a sister Ilease Holsclaw and husband Jim, a brother Pearlie “P.J.” Detter and his wife Barbara, all of Hickory and numerous nieces and nephews.

The Funeral Service will be Tuesday, January 29th, at 3:00 PM at Winkler’s Grove Baptist Church with Reverend Kenneth Faulkenbury and Reverend Dale Faulkenbury officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 1:45 PM until 2:45 PM at Winkler’s Grove Baptist Church.
