Born January 24, 1927 in Polk County, N.C., he was the son of the late Leroy Miller, Sr. and Mary Effie Looper Miller. He was an United States Navy veteran and a member of Mt. Bethel United Methodist Church. Bo was an avid hunter and fisherman; he loved riding his motorcycle, but most of all spending time with his family. He was a member of American Motorcycle Association, National Rifle Association and was a retired truck driver for Century Furniture.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Dorothy Miller and two sisters, Sue Cooke and Peggy Bumgarner.
Survivors include three sons, James Miller and significant other, Martha of Hickory, Terry Miller and wife, Susan of Icard , Larry Miller and wife, Gesila of Hickory; two daughters, Janice Whitener and husband William of Taylorsville and Donna Young and husband, James of Newton; and over fifty grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
A service of remembrance will be held at 3:00 p.m., Monday, July 14, 2014 at Mt. Bethel United Methodist Church. The casket will be placed in the church 30 minutes prior to the service. Rev. Steven Johnson will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be friends and family.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 13, 2014 at Drum Funeral Home in Hickory.
