Lester Edgar Lail

CONOVER---Lester Edgar Lail, 95, passed away October 4, 2015 at Catawba Hospice House of Sherrills Ford after a period of declining health. Lester was born October 12, 1919 in Catawba Co. to the late Herbert Eugene “Gene” and Lula Hahn Lail. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Fannie Huffman Lail; son, Charles Ray Lail and two brothers, Fred Lail and Lee Lail. Lester was a lifelong member of St. Stephens Lutheran Church, Mo Synod. He worked many years and retired from General Electric.Surviving is a son, Hal E. Lail and wife, Pamela; grandsons, Jeffrey H. Lail and wife, Katrina, Mark J. Lail and wife, Donna and Jeremy A. Lail; great grandchildren, Katherine Lail Farley and husband, Kodie, Rachel Lail, Tyler Lail and Jacob Lail and a great great granddaughter, Zoey Farley and a brother, Carl Lail. Family graveside at 10:00am, Wednesday, Oct. 7, at St. Stephens Lutheran Church, Mo Synod. Memorial service will be Wednesday, Oct. 7, at 11:00am at St. Stephens Lutheran Church, Mo Synod with Pastor Dave Guelzow and Pastor David Ziehr officiating.The family will receive friends Wednesday at the church following the memorial service.
