

NEWTON— Letha Cloer Warren, 95 of Newton, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, at Trinity Village on Thursday, July 20, 2017. Born in Catawba County on January 21, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Pinkney and Alta Barger Cloer. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her son William “Willie” D. Warren and three brothers Thomas, Eubert and Edgar Cloer. Letha was a lifelong member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church. She managed the Gold Shop for 30 years, and then retired as a sales clerk for Zerdens retail clothing store. She is survived by her grandsons William C. Warren and wife Marsha of Lincolnton and John Warren and wife Laura of Newton; daughter-in-law Joyce B. Warren of Newton; great granddaughter Stacie and Lyndsie Warren, both of Lincolnton; great grandsons Luke and Logan Warren both of Newton; and a number of nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Friday, July 21, 2017 from 9:45 am to 10:45 am at Bethlehem Lutheran Church. Funeral service will be held Friday, July 21, 2017 at 11:00 am at Bethlehem Lutheran Church with Vicar Vern Kinard officiating. Burial will follow in church cemetery.
