I am so sorry for your loss.  I loved "Mr.B".  He was my Spanish teacher for 3 years and I am not sure how he put up with us.  Mary Hall Hines class of '68

Our deepest sympathy to the family of Lewis Bumgarner. I taught with him and learned so much of what teaching really is because of him. He was a true friend and colleague and my wife Lecia and I are saddened by his passing.

Praying for the family, but so happy for Mr. B> HE is much better than we are now,  but I will ALWAYS remember him and his way of making us all feel his caring!

So sad to hear of Mr. B's passing.....he was my homeroom teacher junior year.....he always had that great smile and he was such a sweetheart!

Prayers and well wishes to the family of "Mr. B." He was a true inspiration to myself as a young teacher. He taught me to add humor to those low points in one's life and to see the good in all things. The community will surely miss this man.

Class of '89

To the family of Mr. B.  How very saddened I am to learn of his passing.  He was one of my favorite and most memorable instructors during high school.  I had him for three years of Spanish at SSHS in the 60's.  I can actually say I learned more than a few words that served me well later in my adult career.  I could read better than speak the language thanks to Mr. B's persistence.  There are so many memories to recall and so many stories that could be told with fondness and humor.  Like the time several of us cooked a very large pot of Mexican Beans for class (that no one wanted to eat).  He always called me EQ because I signed my initials FEQ to my homework papers.  He left a lasting impression on my life and I will always remember him with loving fondness.  Each of you are in my thoughts and prayers as you accept his passing and recall your own special memories of such an honorable man.  I pray for God's strength for each of you.  Adios, Mr. B. Hasta luego.

Mr. Bumgarner was a nice teacher who taught me spanish.  He also let me and a friend do the music for High School intermission one season.  May he  R.I.P.

Mr B was such an awesome teacher and friend. I took Spanish I and II from him. Always a smile on his face.  He had respect from everyone.  Ran into him at the "GO" store that used to be on Springs Rd on his last day of work.  He was one of those special people that touches your heart.  Prayers for his family.

I enjoyed Mr Bumgarner for three years of Spanish at SSHS as a member of the Class of 1967.  I remember him as an enthusiastic teacher that cared a great deal about his students.  I am so glad he was able to attend our 45th Class Reunion.  Vaya con dios señor Bumgarner.

I taught with Mr. Bumgarner at SSHS from 1992-2000. He was our department chair for vocational ed. I always thought so much of him and enjoyed working with him. He was a lot of fun. I am sorry for your loss.

Before enrolling at SSHS, I came for summer school to give it a "test run".  Mr. B was the first person I met there.  He was kind, welcoming and full of vivacious energy.  I will always fondly remember him with a smile on his face.  With deepest sympathy extended to the family.
