

HICKORY - Lillian Helen Rokosz Cygan, 90 of Hickory passed away on Thursday, September 25, 2014 at Catawba Regional Hospice following a period of declining health. Lillian was born on April 15, 1924 in Rockville, CT to the late Martin and Anna Godek Rososz. She was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Sebastian ”Sig” Cygan; her twin sister, Frances Malone, three other sisters, Virginia Rokosz, Cecilia Rokosz, Jean Kupiec and a brother, Edward Rokosz. Lillian is survived by a daughter, Linda Gensheimer of Hickory with whom she lived with, a son, Bill Cygan and wife Sharon of Indian Land, SC., two granddaughters, Lisa MaGruder and husband Shaun of Austin, TX, Kimberly Hunter and husband A.J. of Indian Land, SC, two grandsons, Aaron Gensheimer and wife Ashton of Atlanta, GA, William Cygan and wife Callie of Stanford, CT, great-granddaughter, Avery Gensheimer of Atlanta, GA, twin great- grandchildren, Isaac and Eliana MaGruder of Austin, TX, and a sister, Doris Rudolph of Springfield, MA. The family will receive friends on Friday, October 03, 2014 from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 AM at St Aloysius Catholic Church, Holy Family Hall.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, October 03, 2014 at 11:00AM at St. Aloysius Catholic Church with Father Larry LoManaco officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery.
