Linda Gail (Smith) Craig

Linda Smith Craig, 84, passed away on Saturday, August 22, at Catawba Valley Medical Center in Hickory after a period of declining health. She was born on August 3, 1942, in Catawba County to the late Allie Blake Smith and Mildred Bollinger Smith. She dedicated many years of service to the furniture industry and Sherrill Furniture from which she retired. A lifelong fan of NASCAR racing and later in life NBA basketball, above all else she loved spending time with her family. Some of her greatest memories were of time spent with family, friends and sometimes strangers at her legendary Christmas parties.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of nearly 60 years, Kenneth Wayne Craig and her sister Janice Smith Lackey. Linda is survived by son, Todd Craig & wife Suzi; daughters, Tina Clark; Tracey Hennigar & husband Trent; six grandchildren; brother Richard Smith & wife Judy and brother-law, Keith Craig. To honor her wishes a private graveside service was held on August 26, 2026, at Fairview Cemetery.
