Lottie Ruth Austin

Ruth was born Jan. 16, 1918, in Catawba County to the late Lawrence O. and Bertha Herman Hall, Sr.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Arthur Austin; a daughter, Novella Austin Jones; a son-in-law, Richard Jones; four sisters; and four brothers.

Surviving are her sons, Sterling Austin and wife, Brenda, of Taylorsville and Stuart Austin and wife Michelle, of Apex, N.C.; daughter, Melany Blinson and husband, Rick, of Clayton, N.C.; granddaughters, Valerie LaMarre and husband, Tommy, of El Paso, Texas, Laurie Rogers and husband, Jeff, of Greenville and Caroline Blinson, of Clayton, N.C.; grandsons, Todd Austin and wife, Mandy, of Taylorsville, Scott Austin and wife, Sheila, of Fletcher, N.C. and Samuel Blinson, of Clayton, N.C.; two great-granddaughters, Autumn Austin and Katelyn Rogers; and five great-grandsons, Zeb Austin, Chase Austin, Tyler Austin, Caleb Austin and Forrest Rogers; sister, Helen Reitzel and husband, Jerry, of Hickory; brother, Bruce Hall, and wife, Maxine, of Bethlehem; and sister-in-law, Tressie Hall, of Hickory.

She was a member of Mt. Pisgah Lutheran Church, where services will be held Monday, July 23, at 3 p.m., with the Rev. Mike Stone officiating.

Burial will follow in Catawba Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends Monday from 1:45 to 2:45 p.m., at the church.
