Lue was a devoted husband, loving father, and cherished family man who found joy in the simple things he loved most. He enjoyed hunting, playing sports such as (ncaws pob), gardening, playing the qeej (a traditional Hmong instrument), and chickens (qaib). His greatest pride, however, was always his family.
Lue met the love of his life in Laos, and they were married in 1982. In 1987, they immigrated to the United States, first settling in Stockton, California. Over the years, the family made homes in Massachusetts, North Carolina, and Wisconsin before returning to North Carolina, where Lue spent most of his life.
Determined to create a better future for himself and his family, Lue dedicated much of his time to attending English classes to improve his language skills and opportunities. He worked tirelessly throughout his life, holding various jobs to provide for those he loved. His final employment was with Neuville.
Lue was a selfless and compassionate father who always put his children first. He gave everything he had to support and care for them, even during times when he had very little himself. His love, generosity, and unwavering dedication to his family will always be remembered.
Although his passing came sooner than anyone wished, Lue's legacy of love, sacrifice, strength, and kindness will live on in the hearts of his family and friends. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 15, at Drum Funeral Home in Hickory. Interment will immediately follow on Sunday, August 16, at Burke Memorial Park.
