Hickory – Luisa Catalina Ortiz Johnston, 81 of Hickory went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 5, 2023 at Carolina Caring of Newton.
Born on November 25, 1941 in Santiago, Chile, Luisa was the daughter of the late Juan Francisco and Ana Luisa Ramirez Ortiz.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a brother of Chile, South America and a son, Bill Johnston of Hickory.
Those left to cherish her memory include, her husband, Granville Johnston of the home; 3 sisters of Chile; a son, Scott Johnston and wife, Dwanda; 2 granddaughters, Alyssa Dale and husband, Daniel and Catherine Mellon and husband, Nick; 2 great-grandchildren, Carleigh and Elijah Dale.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Catawba Funeral Home on Friday, March 10, 2023 at 2:00 pm with Pastor Art Randall officiating. Burial will follow at Catawba Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hickory Seventh Day Adventist Church in Luisa’s name.
