Lydia Louise Snipes Wilson

HICKORY – Lydia Louise Snipes Wilson, 87, passed away on Friday, August 14, 2015 at Frye Regional Medical Center in Hickory. She was born on November 11, 1927 in Burke County. Lydia was a lifelong member of Wilkies Grove Baptist Church in Hickory. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William O. Wilson; infant son, William Orie Wilson Jr.; and a sister, Ethel Young. Lydia is survived by her daughters, Loretta Fuslier and husband, Warren of Hildebran, and Linda L. Wilson of George Hildebran; grandsons, William Robert “Bobby” Hill and wife, Reponza, and Matthew Fuslier; granddaughters, Christi Bolick, and Michelle Lanford and husband, Andy; nephews, Wayne Propst, Kenneth Young, and a nephew who was like a son, Ira Propst and wife, Sandra; niece, Suzie Penley; and three great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 16, 2015 from 1:30pm to 2:45pm at Hickory Funeral Home and at other times receiving will take place at the home of Ira Propst. The funeral service will be Sunday, August 16, 2015 at 3:00pm at Hickory Funeral Home with Rev. Ray Raymor and Rev. Kenneth Bryant officiating.
