Mamie L Byrd

HICKORY – Mamie L. Byrd, 86, of Hickory passed away on July 28, 2014 at her residence.

Born December 20, 1927 in Cleveland County, she was a daughter of the late Walter and Isabelle Brown Byrd.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by seven brothers and sister, James, Walter, Willie, Roosevelt, Bobby and Buern Byrd and Katherine Byrd.

Survivors include a sister, Dorothy Johnson of Hickory; nieces, Teresa (Bill) Lackey, Terry Byrd, Norma Byrd, Zondra (Delbert) Milline, Tosha (Thomas) Byrd Jackson, Euereka (Michael) Byrd Banks, Betty Jo Dillingham, Erica Johnson and Annika Johnson; nephews, Walter Hopper, Danny Hopper, Patrick Byrd, Donald (Barbara) Wright; and special nieces Kenyottia Byrd.

Quiet hour will be held at 1:30 PM on Saturday, August 2, 2014 at First Baptist Church of Lawndale at 2 PM. The funeral will follow at 2 PM. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.

The family will be receiving at other times at 2823 Philadelphia Church Road, Lawndale, NC 28090.

The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:30 – 2:00 PM.
