HICKORY – Margaret Hefner, 85 of Hickory went home to be with the Lord on June 26, 2025.
Born on November 19, 1939 in Catawba County, she was the daughter of the late Boyd Mingus and Ruth Briggs. Margaret was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother. She enjoyed working in her yard with her flowers. Margaret was a special soul who always put her family and others before herself.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Clayton Hefner; siblings, Marie Mingus, Jack Mingus, James Mingus, Charles Mingus, and Kenneth Mingus.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Teresa Thoman and husband, Keith, James Hefner; granddaughter, Jessica Stephens; and sister-in-law, Diane Mingus.
A Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, July 2, 2025 at 10 am at Catawba Memorial Park with Pastor Jeff Brown officiating. Entombment will follow.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Carolina Caring or Safe Harbor’s ReSource (Woman’s Resource Center).
