Margie Elizabeth Townsend

CONOVER---Margie Elizabeth Townsend, 81, of County Home Road, Conover passed away February 28, 2016 at Trinity Village after a period of declining health. Margie was born May 16, 1934 in Catawba Co. to the late Monroe and Fannie Townsend. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 6 sisters and 7 brothers. Margie was a member of Mt. Zion Lutheran Church and retired from Conover Glove. Surviving are her brothers, Raymond Townsend of Hickory, Edward “Ed” Townsend of Hickory and Truman Townsend and wife, Carol of Rocky Mt., NC; nephew, Johnny Townsend and wife Sheri of Conover; great nephew, Jeremy Townsend and wife, Mary of Taylorsville; great niece, Brandi Townsend of Conover; a number of nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Services will be Tuesday, March 1, 2016, at 3:00 P. M. at Mt. Zion Lutheran Church with Rev. Scott Bollinger officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
