Marie Pizzano, beloved wife of Anthony (Bill) Pizzano of Hickory, NC formerly of Watertown CT passed peacefully on October 28, 2021 surrounded by her loved ones. Marie was born on May 13, 1935 in Waterbury, CT to Pasquale and Philomena (Bergantino) Casalino. She is predeceased by both her parents and her brothers, Patsy Casalino and William Casalino.
Marie is survived by her husband, Anthony (Bill) Pizzano and her children, Anthony “Bill” Pizzano, Jr. of Thomaston, CT, Richard “Rick” Pizzano and his wife Theresa of Simi Valley, CA, Gary Pizzano and his wife Debbie of Sunrise Beach, MO, Patricia “Patti” Pizzano of Belmont, NC, Susan Piotrowski and her husband Andrew of Hickory, NC, John Pizzano and his wife Maureen of Thomaston, CT, and Pamela “Pam” Rick and her husband Michael of Simi Valley, CA. She also leaves 19 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Marie resided in Watertown, CT for 60 years where she raised her children before relocating to Hickory NC in 2013. She coached the cheerleading team at St. John the Evangelist school in Watertown, assisted in the kindergarten class, and supported any activities her children were involved in. She has been a member of the American Legion Auxilliary since 1962.
Marie had a passion for cooking, baking, and entertaining. No one ever left her home hungry with her “no leftovers” motto. She loved to reminisce about the good times with her children, vacations, and parties she either attended or hosted. She especially loved vacations with her husband and family.
The love that Marie shared with all will be missed deeply by all who knew and loved her.
Viewing will be held at 10 am on Monday, November 1, 2021 at St. Aloysius Church, 921 2nd St NE, Hickory, NC 28601. Funeral service will immediately follow.
