Martha Ann (Yoder ) Propst

She was born on March 23, 1943, to the late Marvin E. Yoder and Martha Pauline Yoder in Catawba County.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Randolph Alvin Propst.

Martha enjoyed traveling with her family, especially to Disney and was an avid NC Tarheels fan. She was a graduate of Lenoir-Rhyne University. Martha dedicated 33 years to teaching at Banoak Elementary School. Teaching was her passion. Most of all, Martha loved her family dearly and enjoyed every second she had to spend with them. Her pride and joy was her grandson, Bryce.

Survivors include her daughters, Sara Ann Icard and husband Barry of Hickory, Kathryn Dawn Propst of Hickory; grandson, Bryce Icard; brothers, Norris Yoder and wife Diane, Jerry Yoder, Jim Yoder; brother-in-law, Bill Propst and wife Elizabeth and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 13, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 until 2:45 p.m. at the church. Rev. David Drysdale will officiate the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
