Mary Maxine (Goins) Kirchin

Mary Maxine Goins Kirchin, 87, of Conover, passed away on Sunday, July 31, 2022 at Catawba Valley Living at Rock Barn. She was born on June 23, 1935 to the late Ralph Goins and Brinettie Stamey Goins in Burke County. Maxine dedicated several years to the legal field around the counties, serving as a secretary for multiple attorneys before retiring as a Community Service Coordinator in the Catawba County Courts. She was a longtime member of Mt. Olive Lutheran Church. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Jacob E. Bowman; second husband, William Kirchin; sisters, Eva Mae Setzer and Miranda Dobson. Survivors include her children, Pamela Barnette and husband Anthony of Conover, David Eckard and wife Nancy of Taylorsville, Terry Eckard and wife Vicki of South Port; grandchildren, Kelly Eckard and wife Angela, Nicholas Beatty and wife Anna, Timothy Eckard and wife Kimberly, Ethan Eckard, Kendra Watkins and husband Davin; great grandchildren, Emma, Mason, Niyah, Davin, Emily (Mark), Kasey (Cruz); great great grandchildren, Lillian, Logan, Brayden, Ellie. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, August 9, 2022 at 11:00 am at Mt. Olive Lutheran Church. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10:00 to 10:45 am at the church. Rev. Ryan T. Ray will be officiating the service. A private family inurnment will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mt. Olive Lutheran Church, 2780 N.
