Mary Josephine Hilton Smith

Mary “Josephine” Hilton Smith, 92 of Hickory passed away on Thursday, September 25, 2014 at Brian Center-Viewmont following a period of declining health. Josephine was born July 6, 1922 in Catawba County to the late Bartow and Naomi Ervin Hilton. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Harold H. Smith; her twin brother Joe Hilton and 2 other brothers Craig Hilton and Edwin Hilton. Josephine is survived by her sons, Joseph Smith and wife Pat of Hickory, Marion Smith and wife Jan of Hickory, a granddaughter, Dr. Jodi Smith Johnson and husband Tommy of Rocky Face, GA, a great- grandson, Ben Johnson of Rocky Face, GA, step-granddaughter Tammy Ritchie of Hickory; 4 step great grandchildren; her sister-in-law Lois Hilton of Conover and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Monday, September 29, 2014 from 1:30pm to 2:15pm at Hickory Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, September 29, 2014 at 2:30pm at Hickory Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Reverend Jay Robison officiating.
