Mattie Irene Richard

Irene was born May 16, 1927 in Burke Co. to the late James Leland and Blanche Weaver Deaton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters: Alma Rudisill, Mildred Oates and Nora Alice Deaton.

She was a member of Corinth Baptist Church and retired from Drexel Heritage Furniture.

Surviving are a son: James Larry Deaton of Hickory and daughter: Kathy Phillips of Conover, grandson: Jason Phillips of Conover and special friend, Margarita Vargas of Hickory, granddaughters: Pamela Thompson of Boise, Idaho and Jessica Humphrey of Louisville, KY., great grandchildren: Ellen Phillips, Nicholas Phillips, Andrew Humphrey and Savannah Thompson, step great grandchildren, Brenden and Lunden Thompson, brother: James Leroy Deaton of Hickory.

Services Friday, March 18, at 3:00 P. M. at Hickory Funeral Home Chapel with the Pastor Doug Hefner officiating.

Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Friday from 1:45 until 2:45 PM at Hickory Funeral Home.
