Meryl Sue Flynn

Meryl Sue Gill Flynn, 71 of Maiden went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 3, 2024 at Carolina Caring surrounded by her family.

Born on October 17th, 1952 in Marion County, Indiana, Meryl was the daughter of the late Wildon and Elsie Thomas Gill. Meryl loved to sky dive, listening to gospel music and most of all she loved spending time with family. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by 2 nephews, Eugene Scruggs and Brian Scruggs.

Those left to cherish her memory include, her husband of 38 years, Terry Flynn; a brother, David Gill of South Carolina; a sister, Ona Scruggs of Morehead City, North Carolina; a daughter, Carla Thompson of Lenoir, North Carolina; a son, Jonathan Thompson of Maiden, North Carolina; 10 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be scheduled at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Carolina Caring at 3975 Robinson Rd, Newton, NC 28658 in Meryl’s name.
