Michael Ray Hicks, 60, of Hickory, passed away June 12, 2014 at his residence. Born March 19, 1954 in Catawba County, he was the son of William Carson Hicks and the late Maggie Bentley Hicks. Michael enjoyed playing guitar in many different bands. He loved hunting with his sons and spending time with his family.
Michael is survived by his wife of 43 years, Nancy Hicks; sons, Chancey Hicks of Conover, Jeremy Hicks and wife Chassidy of Taylorsville and J.C. Hicks and wife Tara of SC; and grandchildren, Carson Hicks and Jinxx Hicks.
A celebration of life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, June 16, 2014 in the chapel of Drum Funeral Home in Hickory with Pastor Johnny Tomblin officiating.
The family will receive friends following the service.
