He was born on Sept. 2, 1948 to the late Raymond Witt and Marjorie Brash Witt in Ontario, Canada. Mark was a United States Army Vietnam Veteran.
Along with his parents, his wife, Barbara Ann Rumley Witt preceded him in death.
Survivors include his son, Michael Mark Witt Jr., and wife Susie of Hickory; grandchildren, Jennifer Marie Matthews, Michael Alexander Witt and wife Noelle, Nikki Alyssa Witt; great grandchildren, Greyson Lee Witt, Millicent Joy Dean; adopted children, Alex and Amanda Gray; brother, Peter Witt; and several close families, friends, and veteran friends.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, November 29, 2023 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Hickory Funeral Home. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2:00 until 2:45 p.m. at the funeral home. Military Honors will be conducted by the American Legion Post 544.
