Muriel Andris Richards Hefner

STATESVILLE - Muriel Andris Richards Hefner, 87 passed away February 15, 2015 at Gordon Hospice House of Statesville after declining health for several years. Muriel was born September 10, 1927 in Caldwell Co. to the late James Franklin and Edna Poovey Richards. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde J. Hefner; grandson, Timothy Hefner and 9 brothers and sisters. She was a member of St. Stephens Lutheran Church, Mo Synod and retired from Classic Furniture after 30 plus years of service. She loved reading, sewing and her grandchildren. Surviving is her daughters, Tina Abee and husband, Gwyn of Statesville and Carla McKee of Hickory; son Danny Hefner and wife, Annette of Nashville, TN; 12 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Services will be Wednesday, February 18, at 2:00 P. M. at St. Stephens Lutheran Church, Mo Synod with Revs. David Guelzow and David Ziehr officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday, Feb. 18, from 1:00 until 1:45 P. M. at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Gordon Hospice House, 2347 Simonton Rd., Statesville, N.
