Nina Donell Guess Moran, 63, of Hickory, NC went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 5, 2026, surrounded by her loved ones.
Born on February 12th, 1963, in Burke County, NC, Nina was the daughter of the late Donald Guess and Nellie Leonhardt Guess. Nina was an accountant with Hanes Companies for 38 years and loved her working family. Nina loved her Vale community and her Cat Square heritage. She loved her West Lincoln High School and her cheerleading friendships. She also loved traveling and hiking with her dear husband. She loved watching her 2 sons grow into fine gentlemen. They were the most precious treasures of her life.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 33 years, Barry Moran; her 2 sons, Max and Nathan Moran; her “Saintly Sisters”- Beth Bechtold, Becky Church, Tammy Johnson and Susan Sain; her sister, Lisa Avery and husband, Gordon.
A Funeral Mass will be held at St Aloysius Catholic Church, on Thursday, November 12th, 2026, at 1:00 pm with Father Larry LaMonaco officiating. She will be laid to rest following the service at Catawba Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:00 pm to 12:45 pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Nina’s name.
