Born on February 15, 1950, in Statesville, Norman spent more than 30 years working at CommScope. He was an avid golfer who found joy on the course and enjoyed traveling.
Norman was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Benfield.
He is survived by his daughter, Michelle Benfield; his son, Norman Benfield Jr.; and his beloved grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Thursday, July 2, 2026 at 12 PM at Catawba Funeral Home with Pastor Jeff Brown officiating. Burial will follow at Catawba Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 11 AM – 12 PM at the funeral home.
