Patricia "Pat" Harris Shepherd

Pat was born October 22, 1942 in Providence, RI to the late Frances H. Harris and Eunice Evelyn Hirst Hill.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 29 years, Luther F. Shepherd and maternal grandparents, Lillian H. & Frank Hirst.

She resided in Plymouth, N.H., until moving to Middlesboro, KY in 1955. She joined the USAF in 1960, was a medic until 1962 at Maxwell AFB, Montgomery, AL. She returned to Kentucky and went to school to receive her LPN in 1966. Mrs. Shepherd worked in Middlesboro, KY for 25 years. She returned to school in 1990, received her RN in 1992, and worked in Home Health until the time of her retirement in 2009.

Surviving Mrs. Shepherd are her son, C. Scott Shepherd of Hickory; stepsons, John Ed Shepherd of Crestline, CA and Dan F Shepherd and Daughter-in-Law Karen S. Shepherd of Mission Viejo, CA; grandchildren, Sydney T. Shepherd of Hickory, step grandchildren, Justus J. Shepherd of Oklahoma City, OK. Cody Shepherd of Crestline, CA, Ashlee A. Shepherd of Mission Viejo, CA., Kimberlee A. Shepherd Guzman of Julian, CA; and step great granddaughter, Emma K. Guzman of Julian, CA; special friends, Margaret Brawley, Mason and Cassie Brawley, Whitney, Jared and Aaron Parsons, Sister Ruth Rhody, of Cincinnati, OH., Mr. & Mrs. Tom Davenport and family, Mr. & Mrs. Seth Brock and Jacob.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 22, 2012, at Hickory Funeral Home from 6:00 – 7:30 PM with a memorial service to follow in the chapel at 7:30 PM.
