Pedro Trejo Ramirez, 58, passed away Wednesday, August 9th 2023 at Catawba Valley Medical Center following his fight with cancer. Pedro was born December 9, 1964 in San Miguel Caltepantla, Mexico to Fidel Trejo Sanchez and Trinidad Ramirez Rojo.
Pedro grew up in Mexico with nine brothers and sisters. Pedro and his family moved to the United States as a young adult. He would meet his wife, Irma Escalera, and raise their family in Bethlehem, NC. Pedro enjoyed to work on projects, tend to his garden and had a soft spot for his chickens and roosters. Pedro most recently worked at Ethan Allen as a skirt upholsterer. He was known to joke around and have fun with his work family. He was also a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church. Pedro was full of love and shared it with everyone he met.
Pedro is reunited with his first daughter, Vanessa Michelle Trejo.
Pedro’s legacy is carried on by his large family; his parents, Fidel Trejo Sanchez and Trinidad Ramirez Rojo; wife, Irma Escalera; daughter, Tania Trejo and son-in law Franklin Mejias, her children; Nathaniel, Adrian and Gabriella; sons, Alan Trejo and life-partner Benjamin Elledge, Pedro U. Trejo; daughter, Cristal Trejo; brothers, Fidel Trejo, Raul Trejo, Juan Trejo, and Oscar Trejo; sisters, Olga Trejo, Lilia Trejo, Leticia Trejo, Alicia Trejo, and Hilda Trejo. Pedro is also survived by his many sister and brother in-laws, along with nieces, nephews and great nephew.
A visitation for Pedro will be held Friday, August 18, 2023 from 11 AM to 1 PM at Catawba Funeral Home, 3060 US Hwy 70 SE, Hickory, NC 28602.
Following the visitation will be a funeral mass at 2 PM at St. Aloysius, 921 2nd St NE, Hickory, NC 28601. Entombment will follow at Catawba Memorial Park.
